Sussex Democratic Jamboree

  • Cape Henlopen State Park Lewes, DE (map)

Summer is here and we are two months away from a great Sussex tradition: the Sussex Democrats’ Jamboree!

This event, nearing its 50th anniversary, started on Lewes Beach
and in the early 1970s (prodded by Joe Biden?) moved to Cape Henlopen State Park.
The odd-year Jamboree is the traditional kickoff to the next election cycle.
That said, the 2016 elections will include not only races for president of the United States,
but also Congress, governor, lieutenant governor, insurance commissioner, and,
in Sussex County, opportunities to reelect our incumbent office holders and
increase the Democratic representation in the state legislature and the county council.
This family-friendly event is one of two major fundraisers for the Sussex Democratic Party.
We need to build on our successful Spring Dinner and enter 2016 well positioned to help fund the local campaigns.
Contact Mitch Crane at (302-703-2804) or Jamboree Committee Chair Marcel Hayes at for tickets, which are $30 in advance.
